The myths of cholesterol that can inhibit their ability to reverse coronary artery disease

Intelligent people, confident in their knowledge of cholesterol can be a surprise. Why? Because there are misconceptions about this waxy substance. Understanding cholesterol and where they should be sufficient. In order to preserve their health, consumers may wish to identify the key myths about cholesterol. Experts say the first 5 are as follows. Sound familiar?

The first myth: If my total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol are “in the range of law,” I do not have to worry about health problems of the coronary arteries.

Faux. People who get all the low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “bad”) cholesterol results return as “average” can really be at risk as traditional projections of cholesterol does not evaluate many of the problems of cholesterol that could be responsible of heart disease. Believe it or not, almost 50% of all people who have heart attacks “normal” cholesterol, as calculated by the traditional cholesterol test.

The second myth: If I am physically active and eat healthy, you need not worry about heart disease.

This is another error. Many people who are at risk or with heart problems and work to eat a balanced diet. This is because genes play an important role in heart disease. In fact, a recent analysis of male twins, lean and overweight in good physical condition and over and a “couch potato”, found that the two brothers tended to show the effect of cholesterol same for both high in the fat and low in fat.

Myth No. 3: Women are not as prone to heart disease than men.

This myth could not be further from the truth, and is fatal. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women. The fact is, nearly double American women die of heart disease and stroke than from all forms of cancer together, including breast cancer. Too much cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke, and women may have more cholesterol than men, from the quarantine.

The fourth myth: The typical cholesterol test provides an accurate measurement of my cholesterol and low density lipoprotein.

It is a fundamental myth or a lie in his life. A little known truth about cholesterol test method is that it makes a guess lipoprotein cholesterol, low density, rather than calculated directly. Unfortunately, this approach may eventually lead to a significant underestimation of LDL to a person, and the resulting risk of cardiovascular disease. It can also reduce your chances of beginning to reverse coronary artery disease.

Myth Number Five: If my good cholesterol (HDL) is high, I am protected against coronary heart disease.

At first this may seem true, however, there is a problem, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) is composed of subclasses (HDL2 and HDL3). While men and women with high HDL2 are protected from heart problems, people with higher HDL3 may be at increased risk, even if they have normal comprehensive high-density lipoprotein.

Anything I can do for them?

A new and complete debunks the myths of cholesterol in the diagnosis of the test up to 90 percent of people at risk of heart disease – nearly double the rate of routine cholesterol tests. The VAP cholesterol test determines high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, triglycerides and total cholesterol.

On the other hand, breaks down cholesterol levels even more, in all the details that may allow your doctor to better determine the real risk of heart problems. The simple blood test is available nationally through regional diagnostic laboratories and is paid by most insurance agencies, including Medicare.
