Supplements to lower cholesterol

Cholesterol-lowering supplements can be an important part of their diet. Take the impact of food to lower cholesterol a little more. It is not always possible to obtain levels of cholesterol lowering nutrients through your food. Here is where supplements involved.

Supermarkets, health food stores and specialty shops sell a wide variety of “heart healthy” supplements containing extracts of specific plants. It is important to get enough information about these extracts because they all have the desired effect on cholesterol.

Some extracts such as fish oils, lower triglycerides, another type of blood fat, but has no effect on cholesterol.

Other extracts, such as chromium and niacin, are best taken in combination, as shown to produce the desired results without the side effects of niacin high consumption results.

Most people do not seem to be aware that fiber is available in two forms – soluble and insoluble fiber. Only soluble fiber helps high cholesterol levels, while insoluble fiber has no impact.

Health effects of garlic and ginseng supplements are undisputed, but their ability to reduce high cholesterol has not been established conclusively.
